2018 Summit Keynote Speakers
Mark Burns
President, Gulfstream
Mark Burns was named president of Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. in July 2015 after spending more than seven years as the leader of the company’s Product Support organization. He also serves as a vice president of Gulfstream parent company General Dynamics, a role he’s held since February 2014.
Burns has spent more than 32 years with Gulfstream, joining the organization in 1983 as a computer-aided design (CAD) operator. He then became involved in engineering for the GIV flight test program.
Before being named Product Support president in June 2008, he was the vice president of Customer Support for six years, vice president of the Savannah service center for four years and vice president of Completions Engineering for two years.
A native of Savannah, Burns earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Southern University. He serves on the board of directors of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the associate member advisory council of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the board of directors at Georgia Power.
Eric Rojek
Vice President of Sales and Marketing Thrush Aircraft
Eric brings more than ten years management and marketing experience to Thrush. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and holds a BBA in Marketing. As Vice President of Sales, Eric leads our global marketing strategy, communications and brand positioning efforts. Eric has been with Thrush since 2005

Scott Luton - Managing Partner at TalentStream Scott Luton serves as Managing Partner for TalentStream and is a member of the ownership group. Johnny Foster John B. Foster, IV (“Johnny”) joined OGARAJETS in 1991 after graduation from Colorado State University. Johnny was appointed President in 2005, followed by full management and ownership in 2013. Since his tenure, OGARAJETS has completed more than 750 transactions, valued in excess of $3.5 billion. Johnny regularly participates in industry symposiums and panels for NBAA and NAFA. Johnny formerly served on the boards for the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA) and the Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA), leading efforts to the development and launch of the GBAA Scholarship Initiative. He also formed a strategic partnership between OGARAJETS and Aviation Career Enrichment (ACE), an Atlanta-based flight school whose primary mission is to serve its students by providing a positive and nurturing environment to boost academic and life skills through exposure to aviation training. Johnny is an active member of the Southern 7 Chapter of YPO. Johnny is married to Laura Boone Foster, a life-long friend. They have three children and all are active members of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church and School. The family enjoys hiking, skiing, running and flying the family Cub. |

Zaheer Faruqi
Zaheer is an international aviation marketing and sales professional with over 30 years of industry experience spanning technical, engineering, maintenance, and aircraft spares parts sales management. He is responsible for the vision, goals, strategic planning and development of Aventure to maintain competitive edge in the industry. In 2009, U.S. Small Business Administration declared Aventure as Exporter of the Year for the State of Georgia. Aventure then went on to compete and win the title as Exporter of the Year for Southeast Region beating out companies from the State of Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi. Gary O'Neill, Senior Research Engineer Gary O'neill currently serves as the Senior Aerospace and Defense Specialist of the Center of Innovation for Aerospace (COIA), a program of the state of Georgia Department of Economic Development. As the Senior Aerospace and Defense Specialist for COIA, he managed a master Cooperative Research and Development Agreement between the State of Georgia and the U.S. Air Force. As part of his focus on technology for COIA, he is the coordinator for the state’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Working Group, a loose collaboration with state agencies, innovative companies and academic partners advancing the commercialization of UAS. Gary is a graduate of the Georgia Tech School of Aerospace Engineering and received Masters of Aeronautical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineer degrees from the Naval Post Graduate School. He joined Georgia Tech as a research faculty member after a 25-year career in the US Navy as an operational helicopter pilot and acquisition logistics and maintenance expert with two command tours in the Naval Air Systems Command. At Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), he was a founding member of the multi-university team known as the Academic Center for Aging Aircraft and served as Co-Director of the Logistics and Maintenance Applied Research Center of GTRI. His research at Georgia Tech has focused on challenges of logistics and maintenance of complex mechanical systems and the use of continuous improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance logistics support. Past research includes advanced logistic support systems and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) projects for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He is one of the instructors in the Professional Masters Degree in Systems Engineering offered by GTRI, teaching a module on the use of systems engineering in life cycle management of complex systems. |
